Assistant Refrigeration Mechanic

About the role

The Assistant Refrigeration Mechanic supports the operation and maintenance of HVAC, provisioning, and refrigerated equipment aboard the vessel under the supervision of the Refrigeration Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and maintaining HVAC plant, provisioning plant, cold rooms, and all refrigerated bar and galley equipment.
• Monitor refrigerant equipment and alert the Refrigeration Engineer to any irregularities.
• Maintain engine room and galley ventilation systems, including filter replacement, cleaning, and sanitation.
• Perform periodic testing and maintenance of fire dampers and related systems.
• Carry out laundry lint duct cleaning in coordination with the team.
• Execute any additional duties assigned by the Refrigeration Engineer.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an equivalent position on vessels.
• Familiarity with the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
