Teen Counselor

About the role

The Teen Counselor works under the Youth Program Manager to deliver safe, engaging, and fun programs for teens aged 13‑17 aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a teen activity booklet and ensure all printed materials are accurate.
• Coordinate with other departments to develop unique teen programs such as mocktail mixing, dance, improv, and more.
• Operate and train others on DJ, lighting, and sound equipment, and ensure the teen center is properly staffed during peak hours.
• Host events, lead activities, and act as a point of contact for parents regarding program policies.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of teen materials.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience designing and delivering teen recreation, sports, or theatrical programs.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking publicly and engaging large groups.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to schedule changes.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification and a high school diploma (or equivalent).

Required skills

• Operation of DJ equipment and light/sound systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Typing and basic computer skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
