Bar Waiter

About the role

The Bar Waiter provides beverage service and sales in assigned public bars or lounges aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line vessel, ensuring high standards of service and compliance with safety and alcohol regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and maximize beverage sales while adhering to company service standards.
• Maintain bar and pantry areas in line with USPH/FDA and SEMS regulations.
• Upsell premium and super‑premium products and recommend beverages to guests.
• Communicate any service issues promptly to the bartender or supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience as a cocktail waiter in a high‑volume 400+ room 3‑4 star resort/hotel or shipboard setting.
• High school diploma or foreign equivalent.
• Ability to stand, walk long distances, lift over 25 lb, and perform emergency lifesaving procedures.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Experience with IBM AS400, Fidelio, and Micros point‑of‑sale systems.
