Barista

About the role

The Barista prepares quality coffee and tea beverages for guests aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships, providing friendly and personalized service. The role also includes educating guests about premium coffee and tea offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drinks according to standard recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Maintain inventory of coffee beans, brewing equipment, pastries, and supplies.
• Operate and troubleshoot coffee equipment, performing preventive maintenance and arranging repairs as needed.
• Educate guests on menu items, coffee origins, and brewing methods.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in a specialty coffee/tea store or related environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Barista certification from the American Barista & Coffee School or equivalent.
• STCW training from an accredited institution.

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with Fidelio Cruise, POS, and Micros systems.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation, equipment maintenance, and brewing techniques.
