Electronics Officer

About the role

The Electronics Officer is responsible for maintaining and repairing the ship's electrical plant and associated systems under the direction of the Chief Electro Technical Officer and Chief Engineer. This role ensures safe and reliable operation of critical onboard electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair onboard fire detection and suppression systems.
• Support bridge navigational and safety systems, including lifeboats and winches.
• Service communications equipment such as telephone exchange, UHF/VHF radios, and pager systems.
• Assist the System Manager and Broadcast Manager with computer and broadcast system operations.
• Provide support for the vessel’s high‑voltage network and propulsion system under guidance of the Chief Electrician.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the electrical department of passenger vessels.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems.
• Experience with bridge navigational and safety systems.
• Proficiency in communications equipment (UHF/VHF radios, telephone exchange, pager systems).
• Understanding of computer and broadcast system operations.
• Familiarity with high‑voltage networks and propulsion systems.
