Recreation Staff

About the role

The Recreation Staff member works onboard a Norwegian Cruise Line vessel, overseeing guest activities in areas such as the Aqua Park, Bungee, Bowling, Rock Climbing and Sports Courts. The role focuses on safety, guest satisfaction and smooth operation of recreational venues.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise daily operations of assigned recreation venues, ensuring safety guidelines are followed.
• Host events or tournaments for up to 100 guests, providing clear announcements and engaging interaction.
• Maintain equipment, report malfunctions to the Assistant Cruise Director, and keep accurate usage records.
• Secure signed waivers for all participants and file them for record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in a hotel, resort or similar customer‑service environment, preferably with adults and children.
• Strong English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Professional appearance, good hygiene and the ability to work seven days a week in close‑quarter living conditions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk long distances, lift over 25 lb, climb stairs and participate in emergency drills.
