Automation Engineer

About the role

The Automation Engineer is responsible for maintaining all electrical equipment and systems on board, ensuring safe operation, environmental protection, and passenger comfort. The role supports the Chief Electrical Engineer and may include additional duties to exceed guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair onboard electrical systems, including generators, main switchboard, and automation control systems.
• Service the Electrical Propulsion Maneuvering Control System and monitor machinery automation.
• Report any concerns to the Chief Electrical Engineer and follow safety management procedures.
• Participate in an on‑call rotational duty system and ensure all work complies with safety and environmental policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent); Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma preferred.
• Minimum three years’ experience with marine automation system maintenance.
• STCW training and a National License with Bahamian endorsement.
• Intermediate to advanced English communication skills and ability to work independently.

Required skills
