Area Manager – FDW Operations

About the role

Enviva is seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee the FDW (Fuel Distribution Warehouse) operations in Franklin. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining spare‑part inventories, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving production efficiency while reducing costs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols.
• Meet volume, quality, and product‑quality metrics.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Provide training and development for team members.
• Oversee maintenance programs, tooling costs, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Staff the area and manage the allocated budget.

Required profile

• Associate’s or college degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience (preferred).
• Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and apply lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors.
• Root cause analysis (RCA) techniques.
• Lean manufacturing and process‑improvement methods.
• Microsoft Word and Excel.
