About the role
The Assistant Technical Inventory Controller supports the Technical Inventory Controller, Chief Engineer and Staff Chief Engineer in managing the engine department's inventory. The role ensures timely receipt, proper labeling, and accurate storage of spare parts and consumables.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in receiving and labeling all stores for the engine department, ensuring placement within 72 hours of receipt.
- Control received parts against purchase orders and update the AMOS system accordingly.
- Maintain the AMOS system up‑to‑date for spare parts and purchasing information.
- Keep the stores clean, tidy, and free from damage, moisture, or pollution.
- Implement safe working practices, including proper use of watertight doors, chemical handling, and PPE.
Required profile
- Graduate of technical education, preferably with maritime experience as Oiler, Motorman or Repairman.
- Experience in a similar vessel inventory position or as a technical storekeeper.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of the company Safety Management System (SMS) and related policies.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with the AMOS Planned Maintenance System.
