Security Guard – O&R

About the role

The Security Guard ensures compliance with the ship’s rules and regulations, monitors safety and security equipment, and supports passengers and crew during voyages.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fire patrols and investigate fire alarms.
• Perform security patrols and monitor access points, including passenger hand‑baggage screening.
• Operate walk‑through metal detectors and X‑ray equipment.
• Maintain the vessel’s security log and report incidents to the Security Officer.
• Assist guests and crew, ensuring safe ingress and egress while the vessel is in port.

Required profile

• Holds a Basic Safety Course Certificate and any required licenses.
• Preferably has experience as a security guard on passenger vessels.
• Knowledge of the company’s Safety Management System and thorough understanding of the assigned vessel.

Required skills

• Operation of security equipment such as metal detectors and X‑ray machines.
• Seamanship.
