Shore Excursion Staff

About the role

Norwegian Cruise Line is looking for a Shore Excursion Staff member. The role is responsible for selling excursions to guests, coordinating tour dispatches and helping with clerical and administrative tasks when required. Candidates must complete an online application to be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Sell excursions, recommend tour options, upsell where possible and close all tours sold by Norwegian
• Promote excursions included in the itinerary and answer guests' questions about local port highlights and general port information
• Resolve excursion issues using the Shore Excursion Guest Service Standards Policy
• Assist with tour ticket delivery, voyage preparation, end-of-voyage and end-of-month inventories, and escort and evaluate tours
• Promote, sell and guide the Behind the Scenes Tours
• Manage and run tour dispatches from a ship lounge or from the pier
• Train new employees, cross-train candidates and help with onboard activities such as Pier Welcome Back and Guest Engagement
• Deliver Shore Excursion briefings, run Q&A sessions with guests and colleagues, and follow the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and SEMS

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in guest services or sales (a combination is preferred)
• Intermediate to advanced English verbal and writing skills, with correct grammar
• High school diploma or foreign equivalent; an associate degree is preferred
• Ability to work 7 days a week and live in close quarters with cabin-mates
• Professional appearance, good hygiene, respect for co-workers and guests, and a passion for hospitality and sales

Required skills

• Typing and computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Fidelio, AS400, Mac OS
• Intermediate knowledge of a wide range of itineraries, ports and tours
• Basic understanding of debits/credits, adjusting entries and corrections
• Preferred: basic ability to speak Spanish, Italian, German or French
