Carpenter for Regent Seven Seas Cruises

About the role

The Carpenter will be responsible for all carpentry repairs and woodwork outside of passenger cabins on board Regent Seven Seas Cruises vessels. Working under the Staff Captain, the role supports deck operations and emergency response as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair woodwork throughout the ship, ensuring all projects are tracked and communicated to the Staff Captain.
• Manage the carpenter shop, including equipment, inventory, and consumables, and keep the AMOS system up‑to‑date.
• Oversee potable water filling equipment, ensuring compliance with USPH regulations for storage and use.
• Clean workshop air ducts and filters as specified, and train joiners on‑the‑job.
• Attend mooring stations when instructed and perform any additional duties assigned by the Staff Captain.

Required profile

• Hold a Basic Safety Course Certificate and any other certificates required by maritime regulations.
• Previous experience on passenger vessels as a Deck Hand or in a comparable position.
• Good knowledge of the company Safety Management System (SMS) and vessel operations.
• Strong managerial and organisational abilities, including team building and conflict resolution.

Required skills

• Carpentry and woodworking proficiency.
• Familiarity with the AMOS inventory management system.
• Understanding of USPH potable water filling and storage rules.
• Basic safety and maritime certification.
