Plumber

About the role

The Plumber is responsible for maintaining and repairing the ship's water and waste systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all plumbing components while working closely with the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain potable water, gray water, and black water lines.
• Perform major mechanical overhauls and repairs on the vessel's vacuum system.
• Notify the Engine Storekeeper of consumables needed for work.
• Implement safe working practices, including proper use of watertight doors, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by the First Engineer or Hotel Engineer.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar position on vessels.
• Strong teamwork skills and engine‑room familiarity.
• Excellent communication and a respectful attitude toward coworkers and guests.
• Ability to work seven days a week, live in close quarters, and perform under pressure.
