About the role
The Carpenter is responsible for all carpentry repairs and woodwork outside of cabins, supporting deck operations and emergency response under the Staff Captain’s supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Perform carpentry repairs and woodwork throughout the ship, maintaining the carpenter shop, equipment, and inventory.
- Assist the Staff Captain with AMOS system updates for carpentry inventory and maintenance.
- Manage potable water filling equipment in compliance with USPH requirements.
- Clean workshop air ducts and filters as specified.
- Train joiners on‑the‑job and attend mooring stations when instructed.
Required profile
- Basic Safety Course Certificate and all required maritime safety certificates.
- Experience on passenger vessels as a Deck Hand or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the company Safety Management System and vessel operations.
- Strong managerial and organizational abilities, including teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution.
Required skills
- Carpentry repair and woodworking techniques.
- Familiarity with USPH rules for potable water handling.
- Use of AMOS inventory management system.
