About the role
The Carpenter supports deck operations by performing carpentry repairs and woodwork throughout the ship, reporting to the Staff Captain. This role ensures safety, compliance with USPH regulations, and proper maintenance of carpentry equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry repairs and woodwork outside cabins under Staff Captain supervision.
- Maintain the carpenter shop, equipment inventory, and consumables.
- Update the AMOS system for inventory and maintenance records.
- Manage potable water filling equipment in line with USPH requirements.
- Clean workshop air ducts and filters after cleaning.
- Train joiners on‑the‑job and attend mooring stations as directed.
Required profile
- Basic Safety Course Certificate and all required regulatory certificates.
- Experience on passenger vessels as a Deck Hand or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the Company Safety Management System (SMS) and vessel operations.
- Strong managerial and organizational abilities, including team building and conflict resolution.
