Engine Cadet – Onboard Training

About the role

The Engine Cadet undertakes onboard training to gain practical experience as part of a maritime education program, rotating through technical departments under the supervision of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in engine room watch standing and day worker assignments.
• Support electrical and refrigeration tasks.
• Help maintain and repair equipment under guidance of Chief Engineer and 1st Engineer.
• Perform duties assigned by Third and Second Engineers, including watch standing in the ECR.
• Follow safety and environmental protection policies.

Required profile

• Actively enrolled in an accredited maritime education curriculum.
• Intermediate to advanced English communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to schedule changes.
• Professional appearance, good hygiene, and respect for co‑workers and guests.
