About the role
The Assistant Plumber supports the ship’s plumbing systems, including potable, gray and black water lines, and assists with major mechanical overhauls on the vacuum system.
Key responsibilities
- Repair and maintain potable water, gray water and black water lines.
- Assist in major mechanical overhaul and repair work on the vacuum system.
- Notify the Plumber of consumables that need to be ordered.
- Follow safe working practices, including use of PPE and proper handling of chemicals.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the First (Hotel) Engineer, Hotel Engineer, or Staff Chief Engineer.
Required profile
- Experience in a similar position on vessels.
- Knowledge of the Company Safety Management System (SMS).
- Ability to work as part of a team in an engine room environment.
Required skills
- Plumbing system maintenance.
- Vacuum system repair and overhaul.
